HOW WE THINK abOUT DESIGN

Bruce Mau Design Thinking

We define design as the ability to envision a better future and systematically work to realize that vision. In other words, design is a method of leadership. Leaders inspire, develop and deliver a new product or a new business, a new experience or a new place, a new identity or a new culture.

In the past, great thinkers like Leonado da Vinci, Nikola Tesla and Thomas Edison synthesized all the knowledge of their day as groundwork for their innovative ideas. But the complexity of our rapidly changing world demands diverse talents and experiences to make innovation happen.

Renaissance Teams are our answer—collaborative work groups that synthesize art, technology and science to design beyond boundaries. This approach enables us to take on challenges that we don't have ready-made solutions for—and no one else does, either.
